Knitters & non-Knitters near & far, the story of how I came to start knitting is actually kind of funny.  =)

uWaterloo was my chosen place of post-secondary studies.  & like any other university-town, most of the fun comes out of drinking and bar hopping around town..

Returning back to my west coast hometown love affair with some wonderful people..

& NOW, well..  I just knit a lot.

In the end, I guess I got tired of the binge drinking - so, in an effort to do something more productive, I picked up some knitting needles instead.

It was -30 degrees when I made my first pair of handwarmers - I needed something to keep me warm AND also something that would let me use my phone without the tedious "take off/put on" thing.   ;)

One day, Jen, an acting teacher at VFS complimented my Multi-Colour Infinity Scarf in "The Natural" & asked me if I could knit one up for her too..

Thus, the birth of Handmade By Sylvie! 

Since, I've been working on lots of projects/orders using different techniques and materials.  Each order I make is unique and personalized for the recipient.

I have recently started making custom DIY pattern orders which have been a lot of fun too!
